In Winter Northstar has 2,420 skiable acres with a Base Elevation of 6,330 ft and 8,610 at the Summit.  17 Lifts serve 70 trails, classified as 50% Intermediate and 25% each Advanced and Beginner.  Annual snowfall is 350 inches and 50% of the mountain is covered by Snowmaking, the largest amount of any North Shore resort.  There is 1 Superpipe, 1 Halfpipe and 5 Terrain Parks.  There are Cross-Country/Snowshoeing trails with their own Center.  The Staff has a well-deserved reputation for service and friendliness and Northstar has always been regarded as one of the best resorts in the country for families.  The entire resort is served by a frequent shuttle-bus service.

 In Summer there is an 18-hole golf course,  hiking.  The Swim & Racquet Club has 10 tennis courts, large family pool, kids pool, lap pool (heated year round), a large family hot-tub and two smaller adults only, saunas.  Also a full gym and games room.  Mountain biking has become a major feature of Northstar and it has been rated in the top 15 mountain biking destinations in the country:  ride the lifts up, bike down over miles of trails.

Northstar has undergone a major change  from the original 1970's development into a resort to match the best in the country.  This remodel is now complete at the Village level  with expanded accommodations, new stores, restaurants, an ice-rink and a traffic-free environment. The Ritz Carlton hotel is open above the Day Lodge with direct gondola access from the Village.

NEW FOR WINTER 2011-2012:

Northstar's new Owners, Vail Associates is investing $50 million: a new lift on the Backside connecting to the top of Drifter; 2 new runs on the Backside; and a new Day Lodge close to the top of Drifter with accommodation for 500 inside and 200 outside.
